Mount and Blade is an independently developed action-adventure released in 2008 for the PC. It combines an overhead map display and free roaming gameplay with visceral and intense horse and sword play. However, Mount & Blade also looks like an independently developed game, and fittingly also has some bugs as well as gameplay that is pretty bare bones.Luckily, there is an active community making mods for Mount and Blade that fix some of these problems. But with so many available, it can be impossible to choose the absolute essential Mount and Blade for you. Well, the top 10 best Mount and Blade mods guide is here.
Continue reading to discover the best Mount and Blade mods available today. Graphical Enhancement 2.5Mount and Blade is fittingly gritty when it comes to both combat, and unfortunately, graphics. Luckily, there is a fix for those blocky, dirty textures. The definitive Mount and Blade graphics mod is.
GE 2.5 overhauls many of the default textures and increases their resolution. The result is a fantastic increase in overall graphical quality, so much so that many larger mods have used GE 2.5 as a building block for their own graphical takes on Mount & Blade. Polished Landscapes. In keeping with the theme of spectacular Mount and Blade graphics mods, we come across.
Mod maker has taken the sparse battefield landscapes of M&B and transformed them into believable and beautiful killing fields. Lifeless looking single trees have been replaced by clusters of beautifully full pine and fir trees. Dead, ugly brush has been transformed into lush, flowing fields of flowers and wispy grasses. Polished Landscapes even adds seasonal effects to the field, with some maps having pockets of snow or leaves instead of dreary dirt. Native ExpansionWhile Mount and Blade has its moments, such as a mass of Vaegir archers obliterating a furious rush of filthy Nord huscarls with an arrow storm, there is not a whole lot to the game besides the standard find-and-fight gameplay. Thankfully, was one of the first mods to try and remedy that issue.
With a bevy of new options, Native Expansion has improved troop trees and many more troop types, alongside of expanded kingdom gameplay. Skyrim lore friendly weapons map. One delicious example of Native Expansion's flair is that you will have at least one or more assassination attempts against you, and you can hire a hitman to get back at those dirty Nordic Lords. Native Expansion does make a large number of changes to Mount & Blade's gameplay, but because there is now so much to do, it really is a good Mount and Blade mod. Chronicles of Talera's main draw is the extensive magic and special abilities system. Each faction ability – over 16 – is a unique ability for the player that can wreak havoc on enemy forces. Some examples include area-of-effect storms that damages enemies but heals allies, the ability to convert enemy soldiers to your side for a short time, and knock-down effects against foes.
Aside from the fun new powers, COT also delivers an overwhelming amount of unique quests, unique lore, unique troops, and interesting locations. The sheer amount of new stuff worth doing makes COT worth a look and is why it made the Mount & Blade best mods list. More Metal SoundsIncorporated into nearly every Mount & Blade mod, adds, well, more metal sounds to the game.
Almost every action sound file has been edited, resulting in fantastic clinks and clangs as maces pound suits of armor and arrows pierce shields. Specifically, the hoof sounds of horses make it seem as though you really are riding a humongous war stallion into battle. Also of note are the ranged weapon sounds; when you pull back an arrow to fire at some poor sod, you can feel the tension in the drawstring.
As if the general sounds of war weren't enough, More Metal Sounds also includes relatively good death groans and screams, although a few are deliciously over-the-top. Still, when most big mods use your file specifically, you know it is good enough to be in the top 10 Mount and blade mods list. Expanded Gameplay III. It just wouldn't be Mount and Blade without the emphasis on blade, or brutal combat. Luckily, has taken that statement to heart. EG3 has numerous ambitious design elements to it, but the best is the addition of enhanced troop AI, extra combat abilities, and a greater emphasis on character diversity. Battles are actually difficult now, instead of a game of find the high ground before the zerg gets you.
AI troops will faint attacks, lower the guard then raise it as you attack, and group up much faster than in vanilla Mount and Blade. Also, a heavy armor mounted character with a big sword is no longer the death machine it used to be. There are other more flavorful ways to destroy your enemies.Aside from the combat improvements, EG3 also adds in interesting elements like a 'death' system that is actually the perfect mix of frustrating but exciting, magical charms with different effects, and large variations in troops and armies. All of these improvements launch EG3 into the top 5 of the best Mount & Blade mods.Click on next page to see what mod are in the top 5 best Mount and Blade mods list! Sword of Damocles.
The real question for the Mount and Blade mod is what can't you do in this world? One of the most comprehensive mods available today, SoD manages to nearly completely overhaul Mount and Blade, but still keep the gritty, intense feel of Calradia intact. The main attraction in Sword of Damocles is the addition of true kingdom management, including recruitment of lords and leading war parties to crush the still filthy Nords.
You can delegate tasks to your chancellor, monitor the building and health of a variety of options for cities and villages, and even declare a specific faith for all of your peasants to obey.Aside from all of these Civilization-esque additions, random events come into play, such as rogue knight attacks, or even a humongous undead invasion after a certain time has passed. Is absolutely deserving to be in the top 5 of the best Mount & Blade mods ever. Eagle and the Radiant CrossThe one type of Mount and Blade mod we have not covered yet, Mount & Blade with guns, is a very popular mod type. The best mod with guns is absolutely the Eagle and the Radiant Cross. A half steampunk, half Britannica combination, the Eagle and the Radiant Cross mixes a strong background story, all new factions with very different combat styles, and a large number of item and troop options with handguns, rifles, shotguns and in some cases, cannons. While guns, if handled without care, can make things a bit messy, EatRC gets it right.
It is absolutely still viable and fun to be a horseback lance and sword combo of death, but there is almost nothing better than handcannoning that really bad dude off his horse. Whatever the case, the steampunk medieval atmosphere of EatRC gets it right, and that is why it is a top 3 Mount and Blade mod. Prophecy of PendorMy personal favorite mod for Mount and Blade, r is one of the most popular Mount and Blade mods. Contastly shifting world of Pendor, PoP has some of the most challenging gameplay around. To start, enemies are much stronger than they used to be, and you are not.One of the best additions to PoP is the completely unique, and perfectly balanced, faction troop types.
Add in difficult to recruit uber knights of differing skills, a myriad of recruitable companions and unique troops, a ton of new items, and enhanced enemy AI, and you have yourself a winner. But PoP doesn't just desert you after some good hard work leveling up, oh no. There are randomly spawned massive armies, each with their own unique fighting style and equipment. Add in some divine inspiration and a hidden faction, and PoP comes out heads above the rest. For advanced Mount and Blade players, PoP offers something new and challenging every time. Also, it has unlockable achievements for the completionist in all of us.
Mods For Mount And Blade Warband Download
That is why Prophecy of Pendor is the second best Mount and Blade mod out today. Battle Size Changer.
And the number one best mod for Mount and Blade isthe! No it is not an error, a simple mod really is the best Mount and Blade mod ever. Let me explain, because Mount and Blade has a battle size limit of 100, that means that only 50 combatants from each side are available on the field of battle at a time.
After a certain number goes down, reinforcements in the form of spawned waves come forth, ruining immersion and slowing the game down tremendously. However, the Battle Size Changer changes the entire game, allowing entire armies to be on the field at a time, ending in epic movie style battles that require true skill to emerge victorious. Most of the mods mentioned earlier in this list would simply be a nice fluffy candy coating on a decent combat simulator if we were not allowed to have massive battles. Thank goodness the Battle Size Changer gives us that real sense of warfare we have all craved before. The Battle Size Changer is absolutely, unequivocally the best Mount and Blade modever. This post is part of the series: Mount and Blade Mods.

The Last Days of the Third AgeOne of the best total conversion mods that was created for the original Mount & Blade was conversed to be able to run on Warband. As you can understand from the title, this mod lets you play the events of the Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings novels. All the factions of the Middle Earth are available for you to play as and there are many fun side activities. There are different races with different bonuses/penalties and all of the gear and items reflect the Middle-Earth. If you are a Lord of the Rings fan, this mod alone is worth buying Warband for.Download it2. Decapitate and DismemberMount & Blade: Warband has one of the most simple-looking yet really hard to master combat systems. The directional attacks and blocks make each encounter a test of reflexes and guess.
During all that, landing a perfect slice to your enemy’s neck feels extremely satisfying, but what if told you that it can get better? As its name suggests, Decapitate and Dismember mod lets you decapitate and dismember your enemies and watch their heads and limbs fly off.Download it3. Bear Force 2If you do not own the original Mount & Blade and therefore cannot play the brilliant Star Wars mod that is Star Wars Conquest, Bear Force II is probably the best Star Wars total conversion mod for Warband. It is a multiplayer only tactical shooter taking place in the Star Wars Universe. It has 6 factions with each having multiple different classes and a unique shooting and force system. From normal infantryman to jet troopers to using force with Sith/Jedis, there is a lot of detailed, fun content here for Star Wars fans.Download it4. Full Invasion 2If you ever feel lonely in the vast world of Warband, Full Invasion 2 can spice things up with its co-op survival formula.
You can team up with other players and battle countless waves of invaders and bosses to survive as long as possible. There are various different maps, classes, enemy types and bosses. As it is one of the most fun mods to play with your friends, it is no surprise that it has been rated by the community numerous times as the most popular multiplayer mod.Download it5. Blood and SteelBlood and Steel is like a semi-total conversion mod; it changes a lot from the vanilla game but does not create a whole new universe/story.
It rebalances a lot of the mechanics, improves visuals and effects, a new economy and adds hundreds of new items. If you have played the vanilla singleplayer and got bored from it, this mod is a nice change of pace.Download it6. H.O.T.D.If you are bored from the classic medieval style of the vanilla game or all the other mods and just want to try something entirely different, H.O.T.D. (short for Highschool of the Dead) is probably the craziest Mount & Blade: Warband out there. You are thrown into a Japan that is infested with zombies and you try to survive with various weapons, characters and enemies. There are 4 factions: high schoolers, police, the Takagi mob family and the zombies themselves. It is not without its problems but if you want to turn Warband into something crazy and unrecognizable, this mod takes the cake.Download it.
Hello, Produno. I'm finally closing in to day 700, so I can give a more in-depth description of some major bugs (or mistweaks) I've found:1. Dogs and direwolves as companions make me unable to issue orders (maybe because of their level or leadership?) and with smaller parties than mine (I have 400 Unsullied) battles become impossible to fight, because my soldiers simply line up and so does the enemy.2. Around day 680-690, Daenerys reformed Pentos and disappeared. I activated cheatmenu to see all the characters and she's both ruler of Pentos and House Targaryen.
Gamebreaking bug, because Dany is gone and House Targaryen enters a stalemate. They're at war with Stormlands and Riverlands, yet they don't attack anymore, after they've had a huge advantage (195/45 with Riverlands, 260/40 with Stormlands). Thank God I had duplicated the savegame at day 670.3.
As game progresses, Hill Tribesmen begin to spawn excessively in the Vale (I've counted some 20 parties at a certain point). The parties are small (around 40-50 men), but I've taken Maidenpool, Gulltown, Wickenden, Runestone and Duskendale and as a consequence, my prosperity plummeted. I have to make guild master quests like crazy to keep the prosperity over 60.4. Probably linked to Daenerys forming Pentos and vanishing, some House Targaryen lords reset their relationship with me. I have to introduce myself again and relationship is again 0. Noticed this on Jorah and Greyworm, but probably the others are in a similar situation. Also, I have a question. As the white walker invasion closes in, is it linked to the first pary I encounter in Lands of Always Winter mission?
Because I've managed to defeat that one (with a previously bought Valyrian sword from Qohor) and no white walkers ever appeared again up to this point. Thanks in advance for the answer and keep up the good work, I can't wait to play the next major version, this mod is incredible!+3 votes.
ByAlmost any game with a modding community will eventually see some heavy duty overhauls. It's natural for people to want to improve things when it comes to a game that the community enjoys so much. Is immensely popular among the player base, which has shown an incredible dedication to the mods produced for this game.Mount and Blade: Warband doesn't have the overwhelming number of mods that games like Skyrim or Fallout have, but there's plenty of content to make up for it. Most of the mods are focused on entirely new campaigns, which change characters, factions, and even whole new maps. Here are some of the best mods that have come out for the game recently. A World of Ice and Fire Modder: produnoStarting off with a big one, A World of Ice and Fire is a mod based on G.R.R. Martin's book series, A Song of Fire and Ice.
The new world gives you the opportunity to step up and take the Iron Throne for yourself, ruling Westeros however you see fit.The mod includes Westeros and Essos, the appropriate factions for both continents, and even the Whitewalkers. With all the options this mod gives you, it would be well within your ability to raise an army and kick in the teeth of your least favorite characters from the show or books. The mod was well received by the community and currently holds an average rating of 9/10.
Minor complaints were noted with people who experienced some bugs, but the hype surrounding this mod paid off in a big way. Star Wars: Bear Force 2 Modder: Bad Name StudiosFor those of you who are more interested in science fiction, this Star Wars mod has provided quite the overhaul and focuses on Mount & Blade's multiplayer gameplay. It's still in its early stages, but already includes Jedi and Sith characters and factions from both the original trilogy and the prequels. Its most promising feature are the new maps, which the modders have stated will include a lot of new environments. While that would have been enough, the creators decided to go a step further and add in their own custom game modes as well. Perisno Modder: Perisno Dev.
TeamPerisno is a high fantasy, full conversion mod that has been in development for years. Besides the standard full conversion aspects, this mod boasts multiple races for the player to become as well as more powerful weapons. It is still in development, but Perisno is available to download, so players can check it out now and get a feel for where it's headed. One of the most interesting things about this mod is the mention of the 'Dreaded One.' The implication being there is some ridiculously powerful enemy wandering around, which would be a fun event for the player. Age of Arthur Modder: LadyAshwoodFor historical fiction with a twist, the Age of Arthur mod can take you back to the Dark Ages. While not officially released yet, there are some major updates in the works - light magic, historical figures, and raising a family are some of the more prominent features that have been mentioned. The creators intend to give the player the power to create their own villages and mining outposts, which could be an interesting addition to the gameplay depending on the benefits involved.
Winds of War: Blood and Steel – 1870 Developer: ImperialGamesWhile not officially released yet, this mod has some exciting implications to it. Winds of War: Blood and Steel – 1870 takes place in a time period roughly resembling the late 1800's, with updated factions to take advantage of the technology available. They have plans for a number of economic buildings, with their current focus being on the Estates where players will be able to build garrisons and War Rooms to access troops and diplomacy options.
